RACE REPORT #344 - August 2nd 2025 (KBnm, VSGTnm, VSPRnm)

Our 344th event featuring races for FRC's Kitbash, Vintage Sports GT and Vintage Sports Prototype classes saw a turnout of seven drivers. Once again, we ran two thirty lap races for each class, a total of six races, preceding these by the usual three-minute qualifying sessions. We initially did Kitbash qualifying, immediately followed by its first race as is the norm, but then decided to finish the qualifying for the remaining two classes before running any more races. This will be our modus operandi from now on - we’ll run all qualifying, then run the races.

It was great to have Ramesh present once more, with his usual fast cars which he shared with Luke. Likewise, we were happy to have Kent attend, even driving in two races — a Kitbash and a Vintage Sport GT — then helping with the marshalling and also joining us for our mandatory boardroom meetings.

We unfortunately forgot to do any pre-race scrutineering once again. This is something that we must endeavour to do from now on before the official competitions begin. Nonetheless, it was a very nice afternoon-into-evening race event, with a lot of fun, on-track challenges and stress-relieving camaraderie which we always enjoy.

Great racing event as usual at FRC. Nice to see Kent show up with some of his cars. Hopefully next time he'll get to drive them a bit more. Was nice to do a bit of fast lapping with Pete, Gordon and Keith after racing was over, with Pete and myself in Datsun 510s, Gordon in an Escort Mk.1 and Keith in a Datsun Skyline.
Congrats to Gordon on winning Vintage Sport Prototype and to Ram on winning Kitbash, Vintage Sport GT and the event overall.
Looking forward to the next event.
